Christmas Traditions….

We didn’t really have a lot of Christmas traditions growing up but I really want to start some traditions for our kids!  Currently, I am struggling with Santa gifts.  Does Santa bring the BIG gift or does he bring small gifts?  Are Santa gifts ready to go on Christmas morning….. completely put together under the tree with a big bow?  For some reason I feel that I need to have these questions answered before this Christmas!  So let me know what are some traditions in your family?  And if you have any insights into my questions above, please let me know!!

A month of firsts….

Hank had so many first this month but I am too tired to blog about them.  We just got home from our 20+ hour drive from Wyoming.  However, I am going to make a list of them to come back and blog about them soon.  We have a lot to blog about!

First trip on a plane (Washington State)

First Ferry ride

First Taxi ride

First Laugh

First Road Trip (Wyoming)

First Water park experience (Indoor park in South Dakota with a temperature of -8 degrees!)

First Christmas

Whew…. December flew by.  I will definitely blog about all of this soon as I start work in 1 week (but I’m so not ready to go back!).

First Santa Pictures

Since we are going to be gone for a lot of December, we went and got Hank’s Santa Pictures done.  We got to the mall right after Hank ate so we could get him while he was still awake but Santa was “feeding his reindeer”.  While we waited for Santa to get back, Hank fell asleep but I think the picture turned out great!

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

December is starting to look a little crazy for our family.  After talking with a good friend, Brianne, I decided to go home the first weekend in December.  So the little Hankster and I will be flying across the country to Washington.  I’m a little nervous about the 4hour and 55 minute flight with an infant but I have been assured by friends that he will be fine!  So to all my Seattle/Spokane peeps, Hank is coming to meet you!

And because Nick and I want to live dangerously, we are going to drive (did you hear me DRIVE) to Wyoming to visit his family a week after I get back from Seattle.  Nothing says roadtrip like a 3month old!!  Wish me luck, we are going to need it!

A day in the life of Hank is still coming, maybe I will do that next week!!!  Get excited…..here’s a sneak preview:

Sleep, Eat, Poop, Stare at Mom, Sleep, Eat, Stare at Dad, Sleep, Eat, Poop,?

That’s all you get…..you will have to stay tuned for the remainder of his day!

Trick or Treat

This year, we went over to our friends Carla and Greg’s house to trick or treat with their boys and the neighbor kids.

img_09601Meet our little robot friends Carson and Raleigh (their twin boys).  Carla made these adorable costumes because the boys really wanted to be robots this year.  It was so much fun to walk around the neighborhood and watch these kids in action.  Carson would lag behind the other kids and then yell right before they got to the door, “Wait for me!”.  Then all the kids would run back to us and show us all the candy they got.  So simple.

Here’s some of the neighbor kids costume’s:

Little Rose:

Little Bo Peep

Little Bo Peep

Little Lucy:

and her little sheep

and her little sheep

I don’t have any pictures of the two oldest kids but they were power rangers.  And, let’s not forget our little turkey.  We put him in his costume and he fell right to sleep.  We have contemplated putting him in it every night because he slept so well in it.
